8 Weeks to go!

I only have 8 more weeks until the 3-Day Walk! I can’t believe how close it is. This past weekend I walked 25 miles over 2 days and I was a little sore!

I also braved the world of Costco again this weekend. A friend let me accompany her to look for my shampoo (which they didn’t have). And I still left wondering “How much baking powder does a person really need?”

Matt took a huge step into the fashion world this weekend. He braved the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and got his first pair of Seven jeans. I have to say that I’m a little jealous since I don’t even own a pair, but they look great on him so I got over it pretty quickly.

Keedy really wishes she was human. She now waits for us to pull out the third chair at the table when we eat dinner so that she can join us. Very bizarre, but incredibly adorable.

Cannon Beach (yup, with a double n)

Well, okay, the first pic is Mt. St. Helens on the way down to Oregonians can’t spell Cannon Beach.

The Cannon Beach pictures now begin.  :)

Saturday

We are having a gorgeous Saturday. FINALLY! Matt played flag football and I went for a 10 mile walk along the lake.

What a great day!

Where has the time gone?

June is here but summer is not. It was windy, cold and rainy today, much like it is in January. Not fun! I am ready for our great summer weather, but it does not seem ready for us.

My training for the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk has been great. It started off pretty easy walking 3 miles at a time. I’ve worked my way up to 24 miles over a week! (one day was 10 miles!) I’m following the recommended training schedule and haven’t had to deal with blisters or any other major problems yet. The hardest part is getting into the routine of walking regularly. I’m hoping the schedule sticks after I’m done in September!

Matt and I celebrated our 4 year anniversay at the end of May. We spent Memorial weekend on the Oregon coast in the quaint town of Cannon Beach. It was a lovely time. We spent most of the time walking around exploring and Matt rediscovered his love of stunt kites. I had the joy of untangling the string when he was done! It was worth it though. Since it was the first big weekend of the summer, the locals hadn’t quite transitioned into tourist season. We were eating at a steak and seafood restaurant and I asked to waitress before ordering what they were known for. She had on overwhelmed look on her face and said “Our steaks and our seafood”. I was hoping for a specific dish, but I just smiled and said thanks.

We been able to experience more of Seattle too. We went to the Seattle Symphony for my birthday (amazing), I hit the casinos with some co-workers (actually came out ahead, but don’t need to go back), and went on a boat tour of the locks with my parents. We started on the piers in salt water and rode through the locks to freshwater. There were many boats harbored along the way, one of which was the Wizard from “The Deadliest Catch”. We also saw the house from Sleepless in Seattle. It was great!

No big plans for the summer. We just want to enjoy the area since summer is the best time here. If only the weather would cooperate! We are planning a trip in October to visit our friends Kelly and Malcolm in Singapore. It will be my first time out of North America and I can’t wait!!!

Hope everyone’s summer is warmer than ours!
